Prescient Medical, Inc. was founded to commercialize pioneering products for the prevention of heart attacks.  Our understanding of coronary artery disease (CAD) has progressed from the old model of CAD as a straightforward mechanical problem to our current concept of CAD as a manifestation of a complex, multi-factorial systemic disease process.

Prescient is developing new diagnostic techniques and treatments to match the more comprehensive understanding of arterial pathophysiology defined by the cardiology community. Our goal, as part of this community, is to reduce morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular disease. The treatments currently available to interventional cardiologists fail to address the physiology of the full spectrum of coronary plaques. At Prescient we realize that there are many different types of plaque, and that different treatment approaches may be required based on the physiologic and structural properties of plaques.

Our robust product development portfolio includes both diagnostic and therapeutic catheter-based devices that will allow interventional cardiologists to more precisely tailor focal treatment according to the unique needs of each patient.
