He also served as a financial consultant to Alteon Inc., a company focused on the development of novel therapeutics for heart disease. Prior to consulting, Mr. Durbin spent several years as an investment banker with Lehman Brothers, Inc. His tenure there included the successful execution of over $2 billion in financings and merger related advisory transactions for cardiovascular companies in the medical device and biopharmaceutical industries. | Ilana Odess General Manager, Interventional Cardiology Ms. Odess has 15 years of healthcare industry experience, with over 10 years in business development and product management, focusing on cardiovascular diseases. Prior to working at Prescient Medical, Ms. Odess was Executive Vice President, Marketing & Sales of Advanced Stent Technologies, Inc., a company that developed bifurcated coronary stents for the treatment of arterial stenosis and restenosis. Ms. Odess successfully executed distribution agreements throughout Asia, Europe, Latin America, Canada, and the Middle East. Previously, Ms. Odess was based in Brussels, Belgium, as Director of Business Development & Marketing EMEA for Cordis Corp., a Johnson & Johnson company. | James F. Brennan III, Ph.D. Executive Vice President – Research & Development Dr. Brennan serves as the Executive Vice President of Research & Development. Dr. Brennan is the author of several seminal works concerning the use of Raman spectroscopy for analyzing human coronary artery and is a recognized expert in optical fibers and devices. He has pioneered several technology platforms and built Intellectual Property portfolios protecting them. Prior to joining PMI, he served as the Vice President of Research & Development for Raydiance, Inc. (Orlando, FL) where he designed and commercialized their femtosecond-duration pulsed laser systems for medical, industrial, and defense applications. Prior to that, Dr. Brennan worked with several laboratories and institutions, including 3M Company as a chief scientist where he built their Optical Components program from fledgling acquisitions. He has experience at several additional laboratories including Lincoln Laboratory, Academisch Ziekenhuis (Leiden, Netherlands), and the MIT Harrison Spectroscopy Laboratory. He is the author of and has published over 60 journal and conference papers, four book chapters, and has been granted 18 patents (several patents pending). From 1999 until August 2004, as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, he led the world wide regulatory approval process for the first radiation therapy based catheter system for treating coronary artery disease, the Cypher™ Sirolimus-eluting stent, and an endovascular stent system for treating carotid artery disease.
